Gary Carlisle

Business Development Manager

Gary is originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland and has been working in the Scaffolding Industry for 45 years. He has a deep wealth of knowledge gathered from many different jobs in many different circumstances.

Gary moved to Australia in 1981 and worked with his father and brother in their bricklaying company. This is where Gary learnt scaffolding and eventually his whole family was involved in scaffolding. In 1997, Gary founded Nomad Scaffolding, which was named after a running club in Ireland. Nomad employed up to 56 scaffolders within the first year of operation. During his career Gary has worked with several Tier One companies such as, Grocon, Calies Construction, Probuild, and Lend Lease.

Gary is a specialist in Formwork and is involved in the formwork offering at Stilcon Industrial Services. He enjoys solving technically challenging situations that may arise on a project, while ensuring the project continues to run efficiently. Some of his most interesting and impressive achievements are working on the dome and barrel vault at Chadstone Shopping Centre; the Spires at St Pauls Cathedral; hanging scaffolding from the roof system of Etihad Stadium; holding the AAMI Park roof system up with scaffolding built from the ground up; Eureka Tower which was the tallest building in Australia at the time.

Gary believes satisfied and happy clients are important and working with an experienced team is the foundation of this.
