The establishment of Cladding Safety Victoria by the Victorian Government is a world-leading initiative. The Victorian Government is committed to a building system that delivers safe, quality buildings and so has developed a comprehensive cladding rectification strategy to reduce the fire and safety risks of private residential buildings to an acceptable and tolerable level.

Stilcon Scaffolding was engaged for one of these removal projects. The team built access scaffold coming from ground up 45 metres around a complex of apartments – on the east and west side of the building. Due to the wind factors around the Penthouse on Level 13, the team designed additional scaffolding using the aluminium light quick stage scaffolding to overcome these challenges.

The scaffolding was fully encapsulated ensuring safety of residents from any falling debris. It allowed the trades to work together for the removal & disposal of the faulty cladding, and then the replacement with high fire-resistant cladding.

This project required sensitivity of the team towards the residents within the apartment building. The entire building was fully occupied for the duration of the job and required the management of people and vehicle traffic, while building the scaffolding. At times the team needed to work off balconies with residents occupying the apartments.

Our client wanted to ensure the job was completed as quickly as possible with as little inconvenience to the residents as possible. Due to the experience of our team working in similar conditions on previous jobs, Stilcon Scaffolding, was able to successfully manage residents needs and the client needs.

We’re reliable, we’re respectful and we take responsibility.
